Getting to Provence

Motoring
The road network is very well developed in France: nearly a million kilometres, of which almost 8,000 kilometres are motorways. There is usually a toll for motorways (autoroutes à péage). Because of their private financing, prices per km can vary. The toll from Calais to Menton (1,260 kms) is approx 90€ (there are special exit booths for vehicles with accounts: télépéage automatique).

Ferries & Ferry Crossings
The Port of Dover is served by the UK's most competitive ferry operators: Norfolkline (Dover to Dunkerque) ferries, P&O Ferries and SeaFrance (Dover to Calais) ferries.

If are travelling from the Midlands or the North then why not book a crossing from Hull with P&O Ferries, or from Newcastle or Harwich with DFDS Seaways ferries or Stena Line ferries.

Travellers to Western France and Spain should consider Brittany Ferries.

The Channel Islands are easily accessible with Condor Ferries, whilst P&O Irish Sea ferries offers great deals crossing from England, Ireland and Scotland.

Ferrycheap.com delivers fantastic fares from all of the UK's major ports.
